I was recently sent a gorgeous breastfeeding pillow from a very lovely lady named Melissa, who, after struggling with positioning while breastfeeding her first baby, created her own pretty, shaped, portable pillow.
Now, being of slight stature, and with a “freakishly short body” (thanks, sis), I haven’t ever really struggled with positioning or needed to pack cushions and pillows under my baby in order to get him to the right height to feed. Having said that, I always like to have plenty of cushions around me to make us both as comfortable as possible, and this pillow is extremely comfortable, both for Pea to lie on and for me to lean on. For mums who need that bit of extra height, or those who need extra comfort at all times, this pillow is light and small enough to be carried as a bag and taken out to use as needed. Nifty, eh?
The first thing I noticed about the Thrupenny Bits pillow was how malleable it is, being filled with foam beads. It is shaped to fit around the lap area, and can be squished down or plumped up, depending on how high you need it to be. Actually, that’s a lie. The first thing I noticed was just how pretty it is, and how nice it would look on my sofa. Then, having placed it on my lap, placed Little Pea on the pillow and got him latched on, I noticed how comfortable he found it:
And look, it really does look pretty on the sofa!
In actual fact, this pillow really is versatile. Once the breastfeeding relationship has come to an end (sob), the foamy-beady-insert can be removed, and the gorgeous cover can be used as a bag. Honestly, this woman has thought of everything.
I have nothing but good things to say about this pillow, and if someone had bought it for me when I had first had Little Pea, or The Princess for that matter, I know it would have been my favourite and most useful gift. So if you know any expectant mums, I strongly suggest you buy them this pillow for when their little one arrives. They will love you forever.
And just because it’s my blog and I can, here’s another picture of my boy fast asleep on the Thrupenny Bits pillow:
I was sent this breastfeeding pillow from Melissa at Thrupenny Bits to review. I received no payment for this post, and the words and opinions in this review are all my own.
